What's a "star crimped" carpet core insert?
Last Updated: 08/14/2015
The "star crimped" carpet core insert is a unique end closure designed for carpet manufacturers. Finished rolls of carpet used to get bagged and tied off at each end. The "star crimped" carpet core insert helps reduce the cost of tying off each end and decreases packaging time. Machine operators now only need to twist the plastic bag, push the excess plastic into the carpet core, and insert one "star crimped" carpet core insert into each end.

The insert is "crimped" at one end, giving it a "star" like look. The unique crimp allows it to friction-fit into carpet cores, eliminating the need for zip ties, plastic ties, string, twine, etc.
